Visitors to Hochfuegen are advised to take the well-maintained panoramic road from Fuegen – and enjoy 12 km of breathtaking views. Winter sports enthusiasts can either drive by car or take advantage of the free ski bus, which runs from valley to snow every 15 minutes, and stops directly on the slopes.
The resort’s connection with the Hochzillertal ski area means that skiers can make use of 35 state of the art lifts and a total of 155 km of slopes.
Winter certainly comes up trumps with a variety of snows in the heights of Hochfuegen-Hochzillertal (up to 2,500 m), ensuring that those flakes keep on falling, and delighting skiers of all persuasions, be it classic, freestyle, technical or downhill. Everyone has a chance to set a new personal best on the sunny, negotiable family highways, dusty powder terrains, in the fun parks and on the speedy racing routes. All those who love wide, free peak slopes and fantastic ski tours will get their money’s worth here.
Optimum skiing until 1st May each year, when Hochfuegen celebrates the traditional season finale with an international Seilrennen (“rope race”). |
