The Bad Gastein Valley has four different ski areas with over 200km of pistes. Lift passes valid for more than one day cover all four areas, although one day passes covering just one ski area may be purchased. The Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel is the largest of these areas, with pistes ideal for beginners or those who want to take it easy. For expert skiers, and those looking for more of a challenge, the Graukogel ski area has some long, challenging runs.
We would recommend the Judau lift in the skiing centre in the Angertal Valley for beginners. Especially popular: the Hohe Scharte Nord (north) (marked on the piste plan as downhill run number H 1) and with a length of 8 km and a difference in altitude of 1,440km it is one of the longest downhill runs in the Eastern Alps.
New 2009/10:
New cable car Stubnerkogelbahn (8-person-gondola in two sections) directly from Bad Gastein to the top of Stubnerkogel.
Attractive free-hanging-bridge (about 140 m long, starting at top station)
New snow-making facilities at the Sender-Track on Stubnerkogel
Finishing works at the blue ski pist to Angertal, as well as at the pist-improvements in Sportgastein
Childrens area in Angertal has been completed and optimized. |
